Audiation is a fundamental skill which both supports most other skills of musicality and connects them to each other.
Your Audiation ability will naturally improve over time through any musicality training you do, but giving it concerted direct effort will greatly accelerate the process.
Audiation is itself a valuable and useful skill, as we’ve seen in the various examples above, but it also “raises the baseline” for other aspects of your musicality, making it easier and faster to succeed with them.
Be on the lookout for opportunities to insert an Audiation step in any musical activities you do, and you’ll find your skills improve quickly. We’ll include plenty of reminders and specific guidance for this throughout the rest of the book.
Before you know it, you’ll have a powerful and versatile ability to “think in music”.
