Conclusion

Congratulations!

That may seem like an odd thing to say, in the conclusion to a book. “Well”, you might think, “all I did was read!”

And while I certainly hope that this was a very active read-through for you, trying out at least some of the exercises and techniques along the way, clearly this book was written as something to come back to again and again, as your musical journey continues. And the very fact that you picked up a book on musicality and read some or all of its chapters, both puts you way ahead of the pack in terms of achieving your own highest musical potential—and contributes in a significant way to our mission of bringing about a world of natural musicians.

So well done—and thank you.

At the beginning of this book I invited you to think about your own Musical Core, made up of some combined balance of Jammer, Creative and Performer, and contemplate what becoming the “Complete Musician” would mean to you. I encouraged you to define your own Big Picture Vision, to gain crystal clarity on what “success” would look like in your musical life, so that it can serve as a personal “North Star” guiding you steadily forwards.

Through all the subsequent chapters we had the chance to explore every topic and skill which we’ve found can help musicians of any kind to actually achieve that Big Picture Vision. Which of them you tackle first, which you choose to go deep on, which ones turn out to be the most rewarding for you—these questions are all highly personal to you. But I hope that you have found these chapters both inspire you as to what’s possible, and lay out a clear path for you to start pursuing that Big Picture Vision in earnest.

You’re now equipped with everything you need to learn music like a “gifted prodigy”, to unlock your musical instinct, and to unleash your inner “natural”.

If you’d like more assistance along the way, we would be honoured and delighted to help you, personally, inside Musical U. All of the frameworks and methods presented in this book originated there, where we have a wealth of step-by-step training modules to make it easy to follow through on learning any topic or skill you’ve encountered in these pages. It’s also the most friendly and supportive community of musicians around, with unlimited personal help on hand, from our devoted team of experts.

However you decide to go forwards in your musical journey, I invite and encourage you to share it. Share your journey with like-minded friends, share your music with other people, and please share your successes with us as you go. I would welcome hearing from you any time, at [email protected].

Again, thank you for being part of this mission with us. Together we can achieve the vision of a world of natural musicians. It all starts with you.

To your musical success,

Christopher Sutton
