Now that we’ve explored the spirit of “musicality”, unpacked the various skills and abilities that contribute to it, shared this concept of the “Complete Musician”, as well as the H4 Model for understanding that kind of complete musicality, it’s time to lay the groundwork for you to increase your own musicality in the way you’re hopefully feeling inspired to.
I expect you’re itching to dive into some of the exciting skills we’ve been talking about. However, we’ve found that if you are to actually succeed in developing those skills, it is absolutely essential to first cover a topic which is typically neglected entirely.
Without this, your progress with any musicality training will be significantly impaired—possibly even sabotaged entirely.
With it, you are primed to succeed with anything you set your mind to in music, and do so with ease and with joy.
So don’t be tempted to skip over the next chapter or skim-read it… It is quite possibly the most important chapter in this entire book.
